Sterilisation Instructions
Glass Intra-Oral Mirror
Glass mirror surfaces can be cleaned with water or glass cleaner.
Dry the mirrors with a soft microfiber cloth. Do not use paper towel as it is abrasive and can dull the mirror surface overtime.
Completely dry the mirrors before placing them in an autoclave sleeve to prevent mineral spots on the mirror. Autoclaving is the recommended method of sterilisation but mirrors may also be cold sterilised. To protect your mirror from damage during sterilisation we suggest you use our Mirror Sterilisation Cassette.
Autoclave pouches are recommended to keep the mirrors sterile until needed.
Autoclave recommended settings:
121°C (249.8°F) for 20+ minutes or
134°C (273.2°F) for 10+ minutes
Do not put mirrors into an ultrasonic cleaning device and do not use bleach solutions. Discard any mirror with a chipped or scratched edge.
Plastic Retractors
Cold sterilisation for plastic retractors is recommended to prolong the life. They can be autoclaved but are prone to crack and discolour over time.
